1873 Complete Domestic Bible, Gustave Doré engravings, color maps

Intricately illustrated 1873 Family Bible, gold embossed covers with various Bible scenes, gold gilt pages, numerous full page color and black and white (including Gustave Doré) lithographs and maps. Very complete Bible, besides the King James Version of the Old and New Testaments plus the Apocrypha, this Bible also contains sections on the History of the Books of the Bible, William Smith's Pronouncing Dictionary, Dobbin's False Gods, Concordance, Metrical Psalms and much, much more. Also a large fold-out picture map of Jerusalem and its surrounding areas.

This Bible is in a overall VERY GOOD+ condition. There are NO ripped pages, only some age related yellowing of the paper (as to be expected). Most of the original family pages have been removed. The binding has been professionally restored, so the hinges are in an excellent condition and not split. No loose pages. There is some wear to the spine and the edges of the covers and areas on the leather.
