1879 Unmarked Holman Extensively Illustrated (Doré) Family Bible

A very handsomely illustrated and bound in a beautifully tooled leather binding Antique Family Bible in a unused- unmarked (with blank family records section) condition. The (almost pristine) leather covers of this 1879 Bible are embossed with various attractive decorations an the spine has 'Holy Bible' imprinted in gold letters. Besides the complete presentation of the Authorized (King James) Version this comprehensive Bible has many, many additional sections including: the Apocrypha, Cruden's complete Concordance, Psalms of David in Metre, Introductory history of the manuscript and early printed editions of the Bible, Revelation, inspiration and authenticity of the Holy Scriptures, Valuable Tables, Scripture Difficulties, Comprehensive pronouncing Bible dictionary, Comprehensive and Illustrated history of the books of the Old and New Testaments, and so on ... This wonderful old bible is also embellished through-out with many beautiful full-page engraved plates by well known contemporary artists (with tissue guards, including plates by Gustave Doré) and some color lithographs.

This Bible is in an almost EXCELLENT condition. It can also be used and opened fairly easily as its bindings are solid. There is NO writing on the family pages! No damages or missing pages nor any staining nor any writing, just a very slight 'aging' of the paper (and a few occasional toning spots). There is hardly any wear to the edges of the covers and areas on the leather! Very fine, supple, tooled leather binding. A ready-to-be used, unmarked and pristine antique family Bible!
