A very nice and beautifully bound combination Church book for the Church of England,
containing a complete Book of Common Prayers, Proper Lessons to be
read at Church and the complete New Testament. From the various title pages:
The
Book of Common Prayer, and administration of the Sacraments, and Other
Rites and Ceremonies of the United Church of England, together with
the Psalter (or Psalms) of David and the New Testament, M.DCCC.LXX
(1870). It is bound in wooden and leather binding, with the boards
being wooden and the spine being leather. There is an oval shaped to
the centre of front board, and which has wood effect design and
patternation. There is gilt decoration to the spine
panels/compartments, and the page fore edges are decorated in gilt
also when the book is closed.

A 'pocket-size' sized Book/Bible
in GOOD condition. The condition is overall fairly good, and the
worst case of any blemish is that the back board appears to have
been discreetly repaired and reattached with glue, although securely
attached now. Also there is light surface wear and scratches to the
wooden boards, and there is rubbing to the edges of leather spine.
The clasp is in perfect working movement. The contents are very very
clean and bright throughout with no foxing or marking to pages
whatsoever, and only real blemish is that the title page to book of
cp is missing, but otherwise all other pages are present and intact
with no damage.
