The first small folio edition of the King James Bible in amazing condition professionally rebound in beautiful dark-red leather with an exquisite metal clasp.

This COMPLETE, very early King James (KJV) Holy Bible in a VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT condition, containing the Old and New Testaments bound together with the Apocrypha, all printed in Roman type. The title border (both Old and New Testament title) resembles that used in some editions of the Bishop's Bible; at the top are the royal arms supported by figures representing Justice and Mercy; below is a tablet bearing the words Cum Priuilegio Regia Majestatis, supported by a lion and a unicorn; at the bottom are the initials C.B. The large engraving before the text represents Adam and Eve.

Complete, with all title pages, colophon and illustrated first chapter initials. Also bound with a very extensive genealogy of the Major General Walter Henry Smith in beautiful handwriting. When the Bible was rebound extra pages were added that were used for these extensive notes and records, so they do not interfere with the Bible text block.
 

This folio sized Bible is in a VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT and VERY USABLE condition. Complete Bible text. Leaves are very clean. Few ownership scribbles on the original pages, but almost all genealogy notes are on special added pages. VERY attractive, museum quality, historical first small folio edition of the Authorized Version.
