1853 gold gilt Miniature Book of Common Prayer, clasped

"The Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Holy Communion According to the use of the Church of England and Ireland together with the Psalter or Psalms of David ... M.DCCC.LIII".

This is a very good miniature Book of Common Prayer, with unusual gilt filigree edges. It measures 3.75" x 2.25" x .5" thick (95mm x 55mm x 12mm), and weighs 61g.unpacked. It is bound in maroon leather with gilt titling on the spine. All page edges are gilt. Fully operational clasp.

The book is in very good condition, with clean boards and a little wear to the spine edges. It has tight binding and clean pages with no looseness, damage or foxing, just the odd minor spot on a few pages and also on the endpapers. The text block is tight with no loose pages. The gilt edges are in good condition, slightly dulled, and the clasp works perfectly. The filigree edging is undamaged .

An unusual miniature Common Prayer Book with no damage, very little wear and with a delicate filigree edging.
